"Pleseons are slender marine reptile-like humanoids that live in the deep oceans and shallow seas of Daelis. Commonly they appear in two separate sub-species, those that dwell in the undersea trenches, often referred by outsiders as Abyssal Pleseons, but they refer to themselves as the “Kaelothýss” (Kay-loh-these), and the ones that live within the more shallow waters are called Coastal Pleseons, who call themselves the “Moankai” (Moh-ah-n-kai). Hybrids of the two have been known to exist, but are biologically sterile unfortunately due to their separated developments, with each sub-species having distinct morphological adaptations due to the select environments they have resided in.

Kaelothýss Pleseons are taller, with extended necks, often a foot and a half to two feet or longer, and topped with smaller, more delicate, heads with elongated needle-like teeth for capturing smaller fish and wildlife. Typically they have developed a darker blue or purple scale tone, but individuals with dark green and brown have been known to occur. They also possess various forms of bioluminescence, the patterns of which depend on the individual, but consistent examples are that of spots running the spine, and a glowing tongue. They often stand close to seven feet tall, with average weights being in the lower two-hundred pound range.

Moankai Pleseons are more compact and maneuverable, where instead of their deep sea cousins, their necks are short and their heads elongated for more aerodynamics within their shallow environments. Their bodies have adapted for explosive speed and a blue-green camouflage matching the local flora, making them swift underwater ambush predators. They average at around six feet in height, with average weights in the mid two-hundreds range.

Both sub-species are capable of living on land, as they do possess a plantigrade leg structure, with their long fin-like tails being the main source of their locomotion in the water, their legs, arms, and hands being webbed to assist with maneuverability. They also do not have gills, having proper lungs, just with a capacity fitting that for marine life. Though it is hypothesized that Kaelothýss Pleseons have evolved to be more amphibious, or have developed their own way to receive oxygen without having to surface.

On land, at least those that have grown used to being there, they have proven to retain some of their dextrous abilities, while not being as fast as they are in water, they can rival the other surface species in speed. Though they have about the same amount of physical strength as humans, their natural weapons being their advantage if an unarmed brawl were to occur."
