Echni are a species of small bat-like humanoids that typically come in two main varieties: Those that appear to resemble fruit bats, and those that appear to resemble vampire bats. Their bodies have formed to be more supportive of upright locomotion, where their animal counterparts seem to crawl across surfaces when not flying, the Echni can walk in a waddle-like motion on just their back legs, or on all fours more like an ape when need be.
Choir of Growth:
The Echni that follow along this culture typically wear a mixture of some steampunk and flowing garments. They dress in bright, often layered, fabrics of natural fibers, incorporating natural motifs such as leaves or even fruit. It is said they were the ones to inspire the idea of sundresses to the other species. They also have been known for weaving small, light weight wind wooden tubes into their garments, to simulate flute-like instruments when they are flying. In addition they will also adorn themselves in jewelry, most often consisting of symbols that are representative of the Choir ideals, like a necklace of an echo bloom, which is a flower-like shape made of wave lines instead of petals, constructed from different colored metal wires, and rings that depict a fruit bearing tree branch, where the fruit itself is a gemstone of appropriate color
Crimson Balance:
Unlike their more vibrant cousins, echni of the crimson balance are far more utilitarian in their choice of clothes. They typically wear robes or garments of muted reds, dark browns or ash black, with any jewelry being rare and almost always crafted to serve a functional purpose such as claps or fasteners. Echni of the Crimson Balance will add symbolic balance glyphs on armor and tools made within their conclaves, two of the more popular ones would be “The Measured Fang” or “The Balanced Drop”. “The Measured Fang” appears as a single fang shape, with a blunted or broken tip, often crescent-like rather than sharp, and “The Balanced Drop” is a blood drop split with a sinuous line along the accent of the drop’s curve.
